Beginners Accuracy Learning Technique

Last updated on March 16, 2010 at 12:22 pm

When you learn anything for the first time on the drums, it is important to try and learn it slowly and accurately before speeding it up to a normal or fast tempo. This is often not the case for many beginners, who adopt the fast and messy approach. Often a beginner struggles to notice if something is being played 100% accurately, and playing at high speed in the learning stage makes it even more difficult. A metronome is a vital aid to measuring accuracy to always test new things to a click.

To sum up, give you self a fighting chance of playing accuratley, with regards to time keeping, drumming technique and performance, by learning new things really slowly and only building up the speed when you are sure it is 100% accurate.
