London Drum Show 2010

Posted on: August 18th, 2010

September 4th – 5th 2010 at the Olympia Conference Centre

To promote the industry and the art

The London Drum Show is aimed at providing a fully dedicated two-day drum show for the UK drumming public, bringing globally recognised players together with a full and wide ranging exhibition of the very latest drum and percussion instruments, making for an exciting show designed to promote the industry and the art. Not only does the UK public deserve such a show, but the UK industry demands it too, and it is through Drummer magazine working closely with that industry that The London Drum Show will promote the art of playing drums and percussion to the general public, satisfying and exciting a demand that clearly exists.

The London Drum Show 2010

The London Drum Show is proposed to premier in September 2010 at the prestigious Olympia venue in London. The new show will bring a host of top international artists to the capital.

Over the 4th & 5th September 2010, UK drummers will have the opportunity to observe first-hand the latest products and gear, watch the world’s top players in action and attend master-classes and clinics, all under one roof.

Drummer magazine has a highly regarded reputation for providing the UK with the finest drum shows having launched Drummer Live in 2004 at the Wembley Conference Centre, where artists such as Nicko McBrain, Thomas Lang, Stephen Perkins, Mylious Johnson, Dan Foord, Mark Richardson, Jimmy DeGrasso and Steve Smith thrilled. In 2005 Gregg Bissonette, Brain Frasier-Moore, Brain, Pete Lockett, Jimmy Chamberlin, Jason Bittner, The Drumbassadors, Jojo Mayer and Virgil Donati all performed, along with the introduction of a then unknown player by the name of Benny Greb.

By 2006, new levels had been reached with another eclectic line-up of international artists, including Tony Royster Jr., Billy Ward, Aquilies Priester, Zoro, Tomas Haake, Benny Greb in a full performance, Stanton Moore, Bill Bruford and Akira Jimbo exciting the crowds.

The live stage in 2007 bore witness to outstanding performances from Andrew Small, Walfredo Reyes Jr., Jungle Drummer and DJ FU, Ronald Bruner Jr., Gerald Heyward, Thomas Lang, Derek Roddy, the Steve White Trio, Nicko McBrain, Wolfgang Haffner and Cindy Blackman.

Each and every year Drummer magazine offered the UK drumming public the chance to witness outstanding performances from the world’s finest players, and 2008 proved to be no exception, with Ray Luzier, Derico Watson, Trevor Lawrence, Jojo Mayer, Chad Smith, Roy Mayorga, Pete Ray Biggin, Gavin Harrison and Jason Bonham sharing the main stage over two days.

The show represented Drummer magazine live. However, the ownership of the name ‘Drummer Live’ has been retained by the MIA, but the team at Drummer magazine are proud to be bringing back their own new show, where the standard will be just as high.

The London Drum Show 2010 will prove the ideal forum to promote the very latest drum and percussion products and when placed alongside a line-up that will feature the world’s most exciting players, The London Drum Show is the only place to be this autumn.

Interested in writing content for our drumming community?

Posted on: August 4th, 2010

We are going to be updating our website soon and are considering opening up the doors to some selected drummers to writing content for the website. In return for writing content on our site, you will get a profile that showcases your band or projects, advertise your gigs and releases etc. If you are a teacher, you can advertise that too.

We are hoping to create a community for drummers of all styles that can learn from each other and develop a huge resource for beginners to advanced players.

If anyone is interested please leave a comment below including a link to your band if you have one and also tell us the kind of articles and tips you would be able to contribute with. You will need to be able to write tutorials/lessons in Sibelius or another similar program to be selected.
