4 Way Coordination Exercise
Last updated on October 18, 2009 at 9:33 amFour way coordination is a fundamental ability that drummers of all levels need to be able to use in order to play the drums. Playing with both hands and both feet at the same time or at different times within drum beats, fills or patterns etc. is an act of ‘4 way coordination’.
This drum exercise is designed to improve the flexibility and accuracy of your four way coordination in order to achieve a tight drumming sound. For the purposes of this exercise, play a stepped hi hat if you don’t have a left bass drum pedal. You could play these exercises to a metronome and also you could play them by starting off slow and gradually get faster.
