Drum Practice Schedule: 3 Day Plan

Last updated on September 6, 2009 at 1:24 am

Get Organised

Keep your drum practice schedule pinned up in a useful place so that you can quickly refer to it. Also, keep your sheet music near your drums, preferably on a music stand next to your drum kit.

If your practice days vary from week to week, you could use the headings Drum Practice Session 1, 2 and 3 in your calendar or diary. If they are the same each week you could write the days next to the titles on your schedule.

Stay Motivated

Establish a routine and make time to stick to the practice schedule every week. Once you start skipping practise sessions it can be all too easy to fall out of the routine of practicing. Be strict with yourself to keep it up the drum practice. It sounds strange, but sometimes the hardest part of drum practice is getting your self sat down behind the drum kit. Once you are there you will almost always happily work through the practice schedules without them felling chore-like.
